“Nightcall” from Kavinsky & Lovefoxx

Song for Nicolas Winding Refn film Drive.

Managed to catch an early premiere of the film with director present while in Paris. Loved the use of light and shadow in the cinematography, the way the camera moves, the natural silences, the colours, the eighties feel, and the eighties themed soundtrack.

LISTEN TO ME
Nicholas Winding Refn’s ‘Drive’ is the best movie of 2011 thus far. It’s virtually flawless from start to finish. I haven’t seen a film as tense, gripping and overall just fucking awesome as Drive in a long time. From the second the first neon pink, rage italic credit appears on screen, you’re transported to an 80’s drenched modern day L.A., and it doesn’t let up until the final fade into darkness. Slow burns of agonizing tension that erupt in some of the most visceral violence you will see all year. Unbelievable performances from Gosling, Brooks, and Cranston. Just a masterpiece, that’s all there is to it.
SEE THIS FUCKING MOVIE FOOLS

“Now I think it’s great that Drake loves his fans but I paid to for a concert, not a description of what the front row is wearing.”

yarock:

First of all, I’m sorry for taking 2 days to post this concert review. I’ve been in a self induced coma for the last 48 hours trying to forget the 2nd annual OVO ‘festival’ with the help of vodka and barbiturates.

I had the pleasure of seeing two of my favourite white rappers this past weekend; visiting Montreal to hear Eminem before coming back to Toronto and seeing Drizzy perform for his hometown.
Both events were labelled as ‘festivals’ which was true for Osheaga; which featured dozens of bands spread throughout three days, but OVO only had 7 artists (8 if you want to count Rick Ross as 2). Numbers may not mean anything, but let’s take a look at the actual performances.

I hate…

Work.

I’m miserable, lonely, and filled with regret. Why did I ever sign that form?

Fuck.
